Research interests focus on policy studies about scientific information transfer and diffusion. Since 2001, her research interests concentrate on Information Literacy policies in Higher Education.
She is promoter and co-ordinator of the European network on Information Literacy (http://www.ceris.cnr.it/Basili/EnIL/index.html)
Observatory activities at national and European level  are aimed at understanding and evaluating how information literacy is diffused and supported in academic policies (European Observatory on IL Policies and Research).
Teaching and lecturing activities, carried out since 1995 in public Italian universities, are focused  around the same themes.
